In this case, they do need to be uploaded again.

None of the flag reasons have an extra reason field anymore. You aren't going to get punished for making a false flag in good faith.

IIRC, only the now-removed "uploaded in the last 48 hours" had a reason field. All the others never had one, though I kinda wish they did. Every flag option has a chance to need explaining, and there's no way to do that except to make a comment on the post (which can be a problem if the post already has and gets more comments, burying your reason), which outs you as having flagged it (despite the flagger name being hidden from normal users everywhere else).

Other reasons used to have text fields, but they were removed due to abuse or misuse

wildcard searches only pick up the most populous tags, I think it's the top 20 or something.

Yeah I'm getting that exact error trying to upload some of my work too. Thought it was a file issue but seems not.

It looks like only uploads are affected. I just did an experimental tag edit and it worked fine.

Sounds like you've accidentally changed your mode. On desktop, change the dropdown box beneath search bar and change the "Mode" heading to "View".

If you're on mobile you'll need to scroll to the very bottom of the page

I can clear my cache and it'll fix it for 1-3 pages, but shortly after that it breaks again. This is the only site I've found with the issue, and talking with a friend in discord, sounds like he's run into this bug a few times as well.

try opening in a safemode Firefox window, might be one of your plugins or userscripts acting up. also try right-clicking the invisible box and using inspect element, that might help determine what it actually is.

Bug with Date:Today Search Query

There's a bug with the Date:Today search query that i noticed
When I'm logged into E621 my timezone is set GMT+10:00. (my local time zone)
anyway, after around midnight/1am using Date:today returns nothing.

Pretty sure this is because the search query wants to use the users' time zone but because the database has it's own time zone it can't return something that's "in the future"

while editing tags i noticed after deleting one tag the system would either add then remove OR remove two other unrelated tags

example post #2838385 i only removed pubic_trail and added happy_trail but leather_straps(plural) were removed and replaced with leather_strap(singular) and video_games was removed entirely

this happened a few other times with pubic_trail editing

those are tags that were added to the post automatically when an implication/alias was applied. in the edit history these changes just get appended to the next edit made, despite actually having been applied to the post way back when the alias/implication request was accepted.

so those tag were implied by the previous editor, got stuck and my editing just jostled the machine to finish

No, it was already finished. If you had looked at the list of tags on the post before submitting your changes, you would have seen that the video_games tag was not present.

The site doesn't generate new entries in the post history for automatically-applied changes because it would be too expensive, especially for huge mass changes like the removal of the video_games tag. Just because a change doesn't appear in the history doesn't mean it hasn't been made.

It's been that way for years now

I don't exactly know if this is a bug or if this is just because of e621's security but I keep getting the damn "not a bot confirmation" over and over again it is starting to get annoying, why is it happening so much?

My blacklist won't save. Every time I add something and then go to a different part of the site, i.e comments, my account page or just anywhere off of general, when I come back the thing I added isn't there. I'm relatively new here, so a little help would be appreciated!

I noticed a while back that there seems to be an issue with the front page search bar on the mobile site. I thought it was a fairly obvious bug, but since I haven't found any existing mention of it I figured I'd bring it up.
Basically: if you're entering a long search query, using the drop-down to complete a search term which would cause the bar to scroll causes the whole page layout to shift to the left. Not ideal, since it usually leaves half the search bar hidden off the side of the screen.
Has anyone else noticed this? I've been getting it consistently on the Google Chrome app, across multiple phones and Android updates. This only happens on the front page, on any page of results it works as normal.

Huh, the tag history still says I'm the original uploader tho. It's weird that the tag history of a replaced post would preserve the original uploader yet not show the post among those uploaded by them, seems like a blind spot in the database ontology.

I'd imagine that was left alone so we have some record of who originally uploaded the post, since there's really no other record of it

No, you've just hit the 10 upvotes per hour limit. It's surprising you haven't hit it sooner Nope that's just for comments. Though there's a 3000 upvotes per hour limit on posts

Posts you blacklist are hidden from the page after it's loaded, more posts aren't put back into their place

Here's something extremely concerning: The password reset system is broken and does not properly assign newly entered passwords.
I just now lost "wrp" to this bug, along with "wrp2" to determine that 1) The moment a reset request is sent the password is wiped, even if no other action is taken, meaning you in fact cannot ignore the email if you did not make the request, and 2) The new password is just not assigned, which I can confirm after repeated tries.

Everything seems to work as expected, if the password being wiped on request is intentional, right up to the moment you try to log in, including receiving the green pop up saying that the password was successfully reset. After that the account is permanently inaccessible.
Also I may have lost a third account to this bug a handful of months ago, but that's been long enough ago now that I don't remember if it was the same problem or if I ever had it linked to my email to begin with.

Addtl. note: When I submitted this post, I had been logged out of "wrp1", and I guess had a similar problem where the password I had just set in account creation suddenly didn't work. After some fumbling around to make another account I was able to get back into this one, but only on mobile. I still can't access it on desktop. I'm not gonna fuck with it anymore until after I submit this, so further details on that might not come.

This plainly isn't true, I can still login just fine after requesting a password reset.
Even looking at the code, you can see at no point is the current password wiped when a request is made.

There's still some kind of bug here obviously, and new passwords I tried to set via the reset request still didn't take, but it's not as serious as it seemed.

The search bar is missing on the favorites page on mobile.

Order:comment (not comment_bumped) seems to be slightly broken, some comments seem to be slipping through the cracks

It doesn't show in the order you voted the post, it just shows you posts which you've voted, in order of id

For some reason, no matter what browser I use, the thumbnails for posts uploaded with the parent/child structure won't display on Windows 11. Just to double check, I booted up my old laptop running Windows 10, and it displayed it immediately, both with and without the re621 userscript running. Dunno what changed with the OS that's causing this, but it's the only thread connecting it. Edit: I am a dumbass, disregard my idiocy

might be something weird with your graphics card, have you tried rebooting?
