Chesnaught (Japanese: ブリガロン Brigarron) is a dual-type Grass/Fighting Pokémon introduced in Generation VI.
It evolves from Quilladin starting at level 36 and it's the final evolution of Chespin.
Biology
Chesnaught is a bipedal, mammal-like Pokémon that shares similarities with plants. The white fur on its belly rises to its face, where it gives the illusion of a beard. It has a small red nose with a tuft of brown fur on its snout.
On top of its head, this Pokémon wears a beige armor plate that acts as a helmet. Its back is mostly covered by a beige, dome-shaped carapace that serves as armor, similar to a chestnut, with four spines down its back. This carapace is bordered by a small red stripe and then a larger green border. Two further spines protrude from each of its shoulders, which are connected by a green breastplate.
Its body is the same color as its carapace. Its upper arms and tail are covered in green armor, with two small spines on each arm. It has three brown claws on each paw.
Like its two previous evolutions, Chesnaught was inspired by the hedgehog and a chestnut

It is also inspired by a knight, and more generally by various pieces of armor such as the brigandine , the barbute or from a more modern point of view, a bulletproof vest
What's more, when considered alongside other starter Pokémon (Delphox and Greninja) of the Région inspirée de la France, it seems to be inspired by the warrior character class or by the Tank class in RPG, its Fighting type and its chivalrous appearance and heavy armor.
Chesnaught is renowned for having a body as tough as a tank. It can turn over a truck weighing over fifty tons. Finally, when it strikes its defensive pose with its muscular arms in front of its head, this big Pokémon can withstand a bomb blast.
Its Shiny counterpart has dark green plating and is overall much darker in color.
Chesnaught is always depicted as an anthro and often as anthrofied. Finally, this Starter is very often represented as a male.
