It's wishy washy because it's the best we can offer. There is no single law we can point to as the tipping point, and while we were sitting pretty unaffected by most things, the same can't be said to a bunch of our business partners who did not appreciate the heat we attract.
And since we can't function in a vacuum we have had to adjust.

I've had a quick look through and restored anything caught by accident in your deletions that stuck out right away.
This entire thing had to happen much faster than we would have liked, so we went in with a shoot first ask questions later mentally.

Trust me, I would have preferred more of a heads up myself.

I get that you’re just kind of the messenger here, ( which if it’s possible to get the mods who actually made this decision available for discussion, then would help a ton ) but it’s honestly really stupid that ya’ll just did it without any warning so people could backup their posts. Like how the hell are you gonna be a “furry art archive” and go ahead to delete people’s art and have it lost to time?
Is there any way for people to still have access to their deleted posts and download their art to upload somewhere else, or are they just shit out of luck when it comes to getting back the art that they probably spent hours on?

honestly what worries me about this decision is, frankly, what if advertizers push further? we already seen on other websites just how much advertisers push these issues. first is this which frankly is fine...ish. but then your probably gonna be seeing more and more purging till pretty much only vanilla-stuff is allowed on this website.

From remarks I've seen on reddit, you should probably be more concerned with the Fandom purging itself. There is a growing desire to push furry art further toward humanization. If firm stands aren't made, feral opposition will be replaced with certain limbs or tails or forms that seem too 'animal.' Eventually anything more than a human with fluffy ears might be seen as a beast lover

Wayback Machine doesn't work. I tried it.
It doesn't let you log in, which means you can't view the content that's normally invisible to those who aren't logged in.
I did what someone else suggested and downloaded the Tor browser, which lets you access a site called Permanent Booru.

honestly thats reddit though. no real worry there. thats like, 1% of the furry community acting that way if that.

Since Baraag has been mentioned a few times and the moderation here seems to be warm to pointing people elsewhere in general, here's an invite url for anyone who wishes to join, as we're always willing to welcome artists and their supporters.
Of course, Baraag and most of the Fediverse it's connected to are not Boorus, but Twitter-like social media, so, expect to have to see art from artists directly.

This link will expire in a week by default, but may expire earlier if things go south. If this can be pinned within the thread somehow that'd be nice, but otherwise I expect it to get little use.
You can also try signing up for Aethy ( https://aethy.com/ ), as they seem to welcome contentious content as well. They are federated with Baraag, so you can still interact with and view Baraag posts generally.

The lack of booru-like alternatives for furry content is the main issue... These aren't searchable, let alone close to being an archive. The only comparable alternative I know of is Tailcurl, but that's been in development for over a year now and still doesn't have anything to showcase. I've been watching their Discord server and there's been some progress here and there, but it doesn't look like they're close to having a functional site anytime soon. They do promise to be a true archive (like AO3 is) with better search functionality than e621, so that's at least... encouraging, I guess?

If anyone knows of any other websites out there, I'd love to hear about them. I hate seeing artwork get lost forever, even if it's stuff I'm not into. History is history, after all.

Just checked my favorites and I've lost virtually none of em. I argue against this radical site change, solely because censorship is only used to destroy and control.

Does Tor work on cellphones as well, or is it a PC only thing?

It's not realistic for me to read nearly 40 pages, but it wouldn't surprise me if payment processors are involved.

As of late in the USA payment processors like PayPal, Visa, and MasterCard have appointed themselves "morality police." People always say it's due to charge backs, but that's long past the point of being a lie because they give very specific lists of what content is allowed sometimes. The end goal is obviously eliminating all explicit content online, but Patreon's more and more specific restrictions are a result of payment processor demands. It's also possible some banks are responsible for pressuring the payment processors.

Clearly, there are people behind the scenes trying to use payment processors to enact control. I'm not a huge fan of Elon Musk, but his "free speech absolutist" stance is making more and more sense. I doubt he's going to do anything about this, but we majorly need independent payment processors bound ONLY by the law, not puritanical crusaders. And I don't support child porn (in fact I had it blacklisted), but it's the canary in the coal mine and the payment processors absolutely must be stopped from this crusade.

Freedom is under major assault right now. In fact, they are even harassing foreign sites, hence regional blocks from Pixiv against the USA for example, and multiple Japanese sites being blacklisted from morality police USA payment processors.

This has nothing to do with government on the US side of things. It has to do with puritans trying to act AS government.

Guess what 🎉

Mods are being very vague and say the ban is to appease their "partners", but also these "partners" aren’t advertisers. Payment processors or server hosts very very likely.

There are ways to access .onion websites on mobile through TOR proxy apps or websites. Obviously, these are very unsecure and antithetical to the whole purpose of TOR, so I'd avoid logging in or doing anything you wouldn't want other people seeing you do.

Ookay so since we are starting up this godwins law nonsense I am going to say this thread has ran its course and will be locking it. There was no reason to get this ridiculous and you were all warned already. Do not make additional threads on this topic.

The OP will be updated with relevant information as it comes in. Stay tuned.
