Hey, first time posting here. On Firefox Mobile, all the images are just gone.
https://imgur.com/a/0rilFe9
Both the thumbnails and the actual images. Its still showing that the posts are there. And some people's avatars are alright, but there are no images. Tapping on a thumbnail shows the broken image icon.

Idk what happened but no images are loading anymore, a few still loaded bc I had just looked at them but any new ones won't show. I tried closing my incognito tabs and resetting it but still didn't appear

Stupid question, but do the most recent images in your favorites show up properly? Because those are the only ones showing for me, including my avatar.

All images have disappeared on mobile for some reason. Attempting to open the image in a new tab results in reaching the no internet screen for the respective browser. Tested on Safari and Google Chrome, mobile versions.

Also here to report that mobile browsing appears to be completely broken. Tried Duckduckgo and Firefox. No thumbnails load and clicking on a post shows it as broken.

Yeah after uploading one art a few minutes ago I couldn't upload another one and lots of pics aren't loading including the previous art, I'm on desktop.

Well hope it's just a server hiccup or something.

I'm having the same issue on OperaGX. I also checked Chrome and TOR, both on fresh tabs, same there. No images appearing, only the Image ID showing. Just as your Imgur link shows. Only recent images are staying, presumably since they're already loaded?

I'm not sure if it's a bug or a side effect, but Medium Thumbnails/Cards on Desktop have an empty unused space at the right of the window, which results in the cards looking smaller than they previously were. I Tested it on Edge and Firefox, Full HD widescreen. I feel like it should have more space optimization?

On mobile seems like only Small Cards optimize the most space. There's a gap on Medium and an even larger gap for Large cards.

Having the same problem, no images are showing other than my favorites.

This should now be fixed, alongside other issues I mentioned earlier.

I'm not entirely sure if the thumbnails were previously getting centered like that.
Based on the source code, they were getting auto-filled pretty much the exact same way as now.

I can definitely look into getting thumbnails spaced evenly.
Although I'm sure some people will complain about it too.

i happened to have an older layout open in another tab and found that i was able to fix it with custom css copied from the old layout:

section.posts-container {grid-template-columns: repeat(auto-fill,minmax(var(--thumb-image-size),1fr));}
article.thumbnail {justify-self: center;}

hmmm, sounds like the problem I'm having might be related.

I'm using Chromium 88.0.4324.150 (32 bit) and I can see all of the pictures, but the Layout Settings -> Image Crop option (Crop/Full) only works correctly for the uploads and favorites shown on user profile pages. In the posts listing or any search results, the setting has no effect and the images are always cropped incorrectly and positioned out-of-center. Maybe other browsers fail entirely at showing the images under these circumstances.

I can explain the incorrect cropping behavior that I'm seeing in more detail if that helps you, but I assume you'll be able to find the error without a wall-of-error-description from me ;-)

I’m on Safari and every image is still gone. Even profile pictures are replaced with “Image Placeholder” images

On mobile with the new look, the comment count is no longer visible on post previews. However, it is still visible on desktop/desktop-mode.

I'm very upset about this, I hope this is fimxed. I'm assuming it works fine on desktop

probably custom CSS is causing this. it's working fine for me, both with my own custom CSS and with none.

I removed all my custom CSS and they're still broken. Using Pale Moon 33.9.1.

Can't see images even in desktop mode, somewhat old FireFox version on Android (stuck avoiding scoped storage on an old device) which previously was working fine.
Newer FireFox versions messed up some stuff and quality went way down, forks have their own issues, may try Fennec in case that works.

Probably best to just revert all changes to pfp and thumbnail code to before the point the cropping "feature" was added.
Cropping the thumbnails just means everyone using extra bandwidth to see whatever gets cut off from the cropped thumbnails.
If given the option between cropped or smaller thumbnails, i'd rather have a smaller thumbnail so long as I can still see what is there without needing to load the actual image every time.

I don't know if it relates to the issue at hand, but my Avast suddenly decided to alarm me about this site when I access my Favorites, saying something about "ads.e621.net"...
Then after that, every subsequent load of the page just doesn't show any images. Like not even the thumbnails outlines, it's just the blank, blue background of the site.

I can view the images if I access them via my profile, but anything else is either stopped by Avast, or doesn't show up at all.( In mobile I can access everything just like normal.)

I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me if it's an false detection, i like seeing my stuff on bigger screen :(

ran a search in a general area like the title of a show and such and it say it has over 6k picture but when I did the search for that tag I only got 6 pictures and wouldn't get any more no matter what I did. I don't even have anything blacklisted.

I cannot see images nor thumbnails on my computer via Mozilla Firefox. But the site does show everything normally on my phone via Google Chome, though.

The website's format appears new, and its page contents are not loading consistently as they used to. Checking the developer logs, I'm getting net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET 200 (OK) on the console.

Also Avast is complaining more about ads now.

Hey so, new to the whole forum thing so forgive me if i ain't doing this right.

Idk if it's a bug or somethin but it's weird. I tried searching some artist tags and nothing comes up. Nada. It says the posts are still there and search went through, and i don't think i've been banned or something like that. The weird part is that it's only when i search a tag. The posts refresh fine and I can see all the latest ones

EDIT: Update, when i click on the "posts" tab, nothing shows up either, just a blank backdrop

For some reason, AVG Web Shield has been flagging the ad service here as malicious for the past couple days. Don't know what that's all about, but considering this is the one of the few places I have whitelisted for adblockers, I figured I should say something.

We are aware of this issue, and are looking for solutions.

I assure you that our ad network is secure and not malicious.

So, checked in with a smartphone, and the site loads normally.

I think something broke for the PC display of the site since the smartphone display of the website works as normal.

(a lot of stuff)

This topic is absolutly not for this, but regardless:

  • thousands of people have been punished for false flagging, I handed out dozens of records for it myself in the just under 2 years I was a moderator
  • Janitors and above can see who flagged a post
  • A post being falsely flagged doesn't jeopardize anything
  • Moderators do not handle flags, nor do flags hit any inbox
  • No one has caved to delete a post because of consistent false flags, flagging can just be disabled on the post by an admin

I'd be more inclined to believe you not getting why a post is flagged and assuming the flag is false (or in the case of young humanoid flags, you disagreeing with how standards are being applied and thus saying the flag is obviously false) rather than us suddenly having a false flag epidemic

Well that's a relief. Sorry for wasting your time.

If I'm wrong, then I'll take the black mark on my record, shut up, and go back to squabbling with weirdos on the internet.

As Donovan said prior, this isn't the place. If you want staff to investigate a moderation issue, then report the user(s) so we can evaluate the matter privately without publicly stirring up drama, & you can provide specific examples & links instead of vague hints.

I'm not giving you a record for making a genuine mistake, but now that you are aware, I do expect you to use the proper channels in the future.

The website still isn’t displaying any images or posts on mobile/safari. It tells me posts are there but there’s no way to access/see them.

One thing I noticed while using the smartphone to visit this site is that all user pics that lead to the main ones hosted here are non-existent, while in my laptop it says 'Image Placeholder' and can't click on them at all.

post #5966264 can't be favorited, stating "Error: Post favorites are being transferred, please try again later". It's been like that for a few days now. Probably something to do with this or a related PR?

Unable to see any images even profile pictures. I have no idea why. Tried closing the browser, restart the I pad, and use a different browser nothing fixed it.

So it would seem, yes.
I will fix it. Thanks for letting me know.

The IQDB API seemed to stop working. As an example,

https://e621.net/iqdb_queries.json?score_cutoff=70&url=https://d.furaffinity.net/art/artonis/1762462695/1762462695.artonis_bny02b.png

returns

{
  "success": false,
  "message": "An unexpected error occurred.",
  "code": "b626486d-deae-4846-8d43-275bb7152493"
}

It was a brief hiccup, should be resolved now.
The other issue you reported earlier is fixed too.

A breaking api change was made to editing posts, it used to return everything in a root post key, now it returns it flat with no root key

Actually it's even worse than just breaking the root key, it seems to just be dumping the raw post rather than actually formatting it like the GET routes do

Safari (mobile).

I'm not sure, but I think tapping on the image (but not on the note) might increase the chance that being up the note might fail. Also I might have a small hunch that some of the issues might stem from being able to select text in the image (like how you would be able to select text in the message you're currently writing to respond to this)

I'm having a similar issue on safari on desktop. my cursor ends up reading the text the note is translating and doesn't display the note as a result. if the note is big enough then i can mouse over it without issue but otherwise my cursor just changes to the "I" symbol cause it thinks i want to highlight the image text. when the page first loads everything works fine but after a few seconds it goes back to not showing the note text.
this may just be a mac/safari issue but i figured i'd say something just in case

I do not have a upload limit, so I do not think I am supposed to be seeing this warning about having -13 uploads remaining on the upload page.

I dunno if this counts as a bug. But the number of comments aren't showing on thumbnails when i browse in phone.

it's not a bug. the count is currently intentionally hidden on effectively all smartphones when using normal or small thumbnail size. discussion on topic #60320.

Blacklisting fav:me (positive, blacklisting posts you have favorited) does not seem to work in any capacity, though -fav:me (negative, not blacklisting posts you have favorited) seems to work fine

EDIT: seems to be re6 breaking it in the index, it still works fine on the show pages, forum #472437

Little eye for blacklist on mobile not showing up?? Everything else is fine, but i’m not able to blacklist things now.

API auth is now case sensitive, this is a regression caused in 41c3c01 which replaced find_by_name with find_by(name:)

find_by_name normalizes the name beforehand, so this is a pretty breaking change

https://github.com/e621ng/e621ng/pull/1535/ broke authenticated API requests.
HTTP basic auth and sending the login and api_key parameters as part of the query string returns

{
  "success": false,
  "message": "SessionLoader::AuthenticationFailure",
  "code": null
}

API calls with HTTP Basic auth in the Authorization header does not work even with UTF-8 encoding.

Test with: https://e621.net/posts.json?login=username&api_key=abc123

Edit, to responses below: awesome :3

See above; it's case-sensitive now. I'll work on it, but preserving the casing should fix it til it's updated.

In addition to what Aacafah said:

We are currently experiencing some service degradation in the API, as the user lookups that are necessary to authenticate requests are not utilizing an index properly.
This situation should be resolved shortly, alongside the case sensitivity issue.

site dont show more than one page of content, displays that there is only one page worth of content despite tag showing tens of thousands entries, pages work on forum tho

its bugged with e621 reimagined script, works fine vanilla

I believe that's an option that let's you infinitely scroll on a single page.

Btw, I’m still having trouble interacting with notes on Mobile. They just work when they want to. If they are too small, I can’t even interact with them, and then that seems to stop all of them from working. The weird part is that the editor seems to work just fine. The only way I can properly read them is through the editor. I’m on a Safari private tab if that helps.

For some reason clicking on a picture opens the keywords to be edited, I can't find a way to undo this?

^ You're probably just in Edit mode. Provided you are not also in Fullscreen mode (==no sidebar on the left), you should be able to find a dropdown on the left under the heading "Mode". You can select the usual 'View' mode from there.

(instructions are for desktop, have not checked on mobile)

I can't tell whether this is a bug or just my ISP being weird, but images don't seem to be loading the site for me right now, and if I try to view a full image, I just get an error message. They were loading just fine a couple of hours ago as well. Not sure whether this is something that can be fixed or if the static1.e621.net has suddenly been blocked by my ISP, but if I paste the image link into Discord, they seem to load just fine.

Does anyone have any sort of idea of what's happening there? Thanks.

(For what it's worth, I'm on Chrome on Android if that helps.)

EDIT: They seem to be loading just fine now. Weird.

Images are still invisible on iPad Safari. Any idea on what’s causing it? I can access them fine on my phone but the site has been basically unusable for weeks now.

im not sure if this is a bug, sorry if it isn't, but when blacklisting tags, they don't have the autofill thingy anymore, so i have to check for typos everytime i need to blacklist something

it has been like this since the blacklist placement change, where ya don't need to go to settings to edit it, anyone else having this problem? for reference, im on mobile, firefox, incognito, a few addons, and an old phone

it's the same for me on mobile but also on desktop

I straight up can’t see any images on safari, they all disappear when I search something and that pfps turn into placeholders

Hi, this is my first time posting in this section. I wanted to let you know that when I add or remove an item from my sets, the timeline showing when it was last updated says "6 hours ago." This has been happening for about a month. It doesn't bother me, but I'm curious what's causing it. For reference, I'm using Central America time.

Post sets have been experiencing performance issues for years.
Attempts to add or remove posts from set would occasionally fail, especially for extremely large sets.

About a month ago, I (mostly) fixed these issues with some black magic and cursed SQL queries.
But as a result, that process completely bypasses the system that automatically resets the update time.

Should be pretty easy to fix, although it's not really a priority at the moment.

This might be the most pointless bug report ever:

Error saving note: User have reached the hourly limit for this action.

Should be "has". "Have" is incorrect grammar.

Grammar issues with error messages are common due to error messages being generic and not depending on what the actual first part is, we've also got "Uploader have reached the limit" and more
https://github.com/e621ng/e621ng/blob/adff187e2fcf9c48cc80ca0c59b26e996369c2ea/app/models/user.rb#L449
This is usually prefixed with "You" via the language file, but change it there also changes it other places making other error messages even more incorrect

Or in other words, it's known, it's due to technical complications, and I am doubtful it will ever be fixed unless someone outside of e6 decides to make a pr overhauling all error messages

I also forgot to mention a more api oriented fact, since there are no error codes in the api all api consumers have to go off of is the error messages
While matching exactly would be a relatively bad idea it also would likely be very common, and changing any part of error messages would break that

I'd personally like to see any day where the api has both error messages and codes, but I know that neither of those are a priority, and the latter is both more time consuming and more breaking for consumers
(not to mention that this goes against how rails works and thus would need an entirely custom implementation)
