all images and even the entire user interface is gone and replaced with a blank white background and blue text links like a website from the early 00s. issue is only effecting chrome and is not caused by browser extensions, antivirus, or anything i've tested. OS is windows 10. is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix?

Yo, so, since yesterday, e621 hasn't been working on my phone. I'm writing this on what I think is a safe mode version, e926? But anyways, the layout for e621 on my phone is so weird, it's a white background with a lot of links including the menu UI and tags and whatnot, all stacked weirdly with no drop downs, and I can't see any posts at all, even though I can still search things up.

try clearing the browser cache. this is an issue a few others have reported, something caused the stylesheet to mess up, clearing the cache should allow the browser to replace any broken files with the proper ones.

well, on the surface, yes, but technically all the stuff that's available on e621's CDN is available on e926's one as well, it'd just a bit more of a hassle to get at it, you could probably write a userscript to get the images to display on the page. although even if you can get the actual post images, navigation would still be kind of impossible, you'd be able to open direct links and see the images, but beyond that you'd be kinda stuck, since all of the gallery/search pages hide all non-safe posts and normal navigation skips over them...
you'd be pretty much stuck to a handful of pools and that's it.

They should be enabled right now.
Recentry tried to change the name of unnamed_green_t-rex_(magangz) to dexian_(magangz), since that's his actual name, but the change would not be accepted because "this title has already been taken" even tho there are no other tags that are like that.
Really minor issue:
When searching for the artist tinygaypirate, the section at the top, which is supposed to show a preview of their wiki page, is completely blank (apart from the "Read More" link). This happens on both Firefox and Chrome.
Presumably this is because that artist's wiki page consists only of two expandable/collapsible sections, with no top-level body text?
In cases like this, could the wiki previews be handled in a neater way?
Firefox seem to have issues with .webm Videos loading.
Not necessarily when you load a single Video at a time, but when you have like 4-5 or more tabs open to check trough a bunch of videos.
It will not load and get just stuck in the attempt to load the Videos.
Downloading the file and playing it on VLC Player works completely fine without seconds, it's really just in the browser
On mobile if you click on the "description" button in your list of changes, it becomes too big to exit out of

Correct; I drafted out a potential fix here ; me or the thread's OP might submit it to the GitHub repository , but I'm kinda busy rn, might lose track of it.

I’ve tried on 3 different devices on 2 browsers, and nothing is letting me remove one specific post from my favorites
Videos from around 2 days ago are still being processed. On mobile safari
i can do most things on the site just fine, but currently adding posts to a set will commonly give error messages and not add the post.
When I'm scrolling through my favorites I'm finding that some posts say they're in my came_early set when they're not, and both direction arrows are white

I had Ratte's art of a Peacock as my home page mascot ever since I made an account, and at some point it changed and no matter how much I cycle through the Mascots, I never get it again. Why even is mascot cycling random? Why can't I just pick which one I wanna see when I load the landing page? Did Ratte disallow the use of their art for the homepage, I thought the site commissioned it for the express purpose of preventing that?
Also, I haven't loaded up the site on desktop in probably over a year, so seeing all the thumbnails being cropped despite having that setting disabled upset me, but then I searched the forums and found out that it's something you can change using the gear icon under the search bar. Maybe put something like that on the toggle instead of just " No effect on the desktop site." because that makes it sound like uncropped thumbnails are disabled altogether instead of just that one toggle.

A mascot was deleted last month, #8
This was presumably the peacock since it's the one missing between before and after
I don't remember seeing anything said about it, but considering several mascots made by ratte are still there it's unlikely to have anythig to down with them
If I were to take a guess I'd say it was removed either on request of, or because of knotty curls being removed from staff, but that happened ages ago

The cycling of mascots is also not random, there's an order that you're looping through
Whatever you leave it on is what it should stay on

You can see the full list of mascots here and peacock is no longer an option. The Wayback Machine doesn't seem to archive that page often, but it was still there on the most recent capture on 29 May. It was presumably mascot #8 which was deleted on 2025-06-19
The peacock character belong(s? ed?) to skunk in scarf (formerly known as Knotty Curls) rather than just being a generic peacock mascot. Giving any reason would be entirely speculation on my part, but it could be something personal, because their character is now a skunk, the fact they're not longer a staff member, etc.

The genital_shot about page still lists pussy_shot instead of vulva_shot
A minor thing but if you set the site font to Comic Sans while on Android phone, it usually ends up displaying as a cursive font instead of Comic Sans.
Granted, Android generally doesn't have it installed, but there is an easy solution for that: have the site download and use Comic Neue as an alternative when on Android or on OS that doesn't have Comic Sans by default. It's a suitable substitution.

Yeah, E6 on mobile is frustratingly slow for me as well.

Yeah, I noticed that a few days back; it's url-encoding a literal # as %23, so it sees a path instead of a path with a fragment, fails to find the specified help page, & just loads the root path instead. I'll fix it when I get a chance.

Tried clearing cache, tried updating browser, tried logging out and logging back in, no dice. This only started like last week, it was working fine before that. Wtf is going on here?
edit: looks like previous browser update actually failed, trying to get that working, will see if actual update for real fixes it.
edit 2: nope, still no dice. Still broken, still error, still no images at all whatsoever.
edit 3: Tor Browser can view images just fine, but it behaves in a lot of ways that make it less than useful for most cases.

Hi, Im currently using iOS 18.6 and latest version of Chrome. When I try to open posts, I often cant open them on first try even tough I can see that I clicked on them. I have to for click second time to open the post. Its driving me nuts…
My touchscreen is working fine in any other site or app. Did anyone else notice this? Sorry if it has been discussed before.

The same thing is happening to me, getting a "Rate limit" message from just browsing. I had to change IP to get back on. Wonder what is causing this.

Running into this same issue, I ended up having to go back and forth between several posts in a pool before it lets me navigate to the page I want
I thought my account was trusted by this point so maybe whatever system is supposed to be detecting this is giving false positives? Either that or my account looks enough like a bot that it's getting flagged by the system idk

EDIT: Eventually managed to do it but I had to navigate around the site in a very irregular way, I would like know what is causing this so I don't have to deal with this again

Every time I try to add a note to an image, I get a box with a red border that doesn't stick. I've tried this on multiple images & on two separate browsers.

The site runs like dogshit ever since the new UI got added like, yesterday. As a matter of fact why'd you guys even change the UI anyways? The UI looks okay but did you really need to make the favorite button yellow?

One thing i agree with is, Why Yellow? It's always been Red/Green, makes it easier to tell at a glance what you've favorited, also not having the text saying favorite/favorited just feels wrong, the rest of the ui was kept at least somewhat normal, this is just too much because as they say "if it ain't broke don't fix it" some things are just the way they are for a reason

Please try to keep discussion about the UI changes to its dedicated thread; there's multiple posts there that might address your questions.
I have had some issues uploading things via links and using links with the site's built in similar image search to check if posts have been uploaded already.
the DText input box uses a strange method of restricting the horizontal resizing being that its width is set with an !important tag. this does the job (assuming that was the intention), but it does it a little better than it probably should, because, unlike most styling stuff, there is just no way to bypass this with user CSS.
using resize: vertical would be the better way to go about doing this.

Ive emailed the management email and the bug(?) or whatever the other one is under ya'll's contact - and have heard nothing back.

What's the domain of your email? It might be blacklisted
ex: [email protected] - example.com is the domain

Rebuilding our Cloudflare caches might have caused/contributed slowdown. If it persists, I'd recommend trying the advice from the dedicated site performance thread.
Tried to watch two videos logged in and the video won't load but audio comes through fine, it's just the site background. On mobile logged off, it works fine, no issues. No idea why this is happening.

Sometimes the files' themselves are busted somehow. However, it's also possible the browser/device is to blame; some browsers just don't handle certain encodings well.
In both cases, if you'd like to link the specific posts, that'd be helpful.
The site seems to now be hijacking Alt+Left that it can no longer be used to go "back".
Favorited posts with a blacklisted tag are not displaying automatically, I'm almost positive the favorite always had priority over the blacklist.

they don't. you'd need to add -fav:me to your blacklist entries in order to have your favorites bypass them.
Using W or S to scroll will no longer scroll more than once per press. It used to function such that holding S would continuously scroll until released, now the page scrolls once then stops until S is released and pressed again.

Kind of an intentional change, with unintentional side effects.
The hotkeys are more "sticky" now – holding the favorite button will not trigger its effect again and again, for example. You would need to release the key and then press it again in order for the effect to be triggered.
I will have to think of how to bypass this for the scrolling hotkeys.

On latest Tor Browser here... I just found out even Ctrl+F doesn't work (noticed on wiki pages) unless the active focus is on the address bar.
So I gave latest Firefox a try on e926, and while Alt+Left/Right does seem to work more normally, I found that if I hold Alt without letting go and press Left/Right more than once, only the first press will trigger the browser back/forward function, second press and onward will trigger the site's page navigation or do nothing.

I'm having a similar problem with both firefox and chrome where holding Ctrl and trying to select tabs with 1-9 sometimes doesn't work, unless I release Ctrl and press it again.
