Yahoo should be fine for emails, I am sure we would really hear about it if it were blacklisted, and that's about as much as I can really try to help with here

Also we don't have notifications, there are mention links on your profile but that's about it

The Fit dropdown on mobile now doesn't quite fit all the text.

Getting a bunch of

Error: The database timed out running your query.

messages when trying to add images to sets.

Gotcha, I didnt think id overlooked any notifications.

- Yeah, ive no idea whats going on. And I cant find anything online either, or how to contact whoever i need to to get it fixed. 10 year account just *poof*.....

Clicking the image to show/hide notes still seems broken with the latest update. Using Pale Moon 33.8.2.

On latest Tor Browser here... I just found out even Ctrl+F doesn't work (noticed on wiki pages) unless the active focus is on the address bar.

I'm having the same issue, on Firefox trying to Ctrl+F to find text on a post page, only to accidentally favorite the post.

On mobile version the button for downloading images got removed. One of the most important parts of UI. Give it back to us.

On both mobile and desktop, pool titles still get consistently cut off. This is happening on both Firefox and Chrome for me.

Firstly, no we didn't, we changed the name to View because it doesn't launch a download like the name implies, it just opens the image in a new tab. Depending on how wide your display is, it might be in the button's foldout menu.
Secondly, we have a new button in the button labelled Download that actually launches a download.

No images are popping up for me, it’s like it only shows images I’ve seen before.

There's a bug where when adding a bunch of posts to one set in the Posts section that sometimes the click just won't register even if it's just 12 at a time

The favorite keyboard shortcut doesn't work while watching a video. And also overrides the browser's search function (ctrl + f never brings up the 'find' prompt, but adds the image to favorites). The page for setting shorcuts also isn't reading shift + something else combo keys.

Not a bug; we're looking into ways to better handle this case.

There's not much we can do about this; we've tried to make all the default keybinds not interfere w/ native browser ones (the default for Add Favorite is Shift+F), & it would be both confusing & a problem if, for example, someone set Ctrl+R as their keybind for Resize & using it reloaded the page.

That's odd, I'm using Firefox on Linux & it works fine (I tested by adding Shift+I as the 2nd hotkey for Scroll Down, worked as expected). Have you tested this recently? It might have been fixed.

Gotcha. Although this was introduced with the layout, wasn't it? It never worked like this before.

I'll check later if there's an update pending, but it's still not working for me. Tried to use the very "Toggle Notes" and it goes from "Shift N" to just "N". Had to click the reset button to change it back.
I'll test on Firefox too. LibreWolf is a bit on the restrictive side sometimes.

Tried to search to see if there is a reason, I've just found recently that if an image has a direct link to an FA image, the link to the poster's gallery cannot be removed. I.e., I come across an image and in source there's:

furaffinity/commissionersname_arttitle.jpg
furaffinity/commissionersname

but no links to the actual post (or even the actual artist, just the commissioner), so I saucenao to find the original links and I change it to

furaffinity/postbyartist1234
furaffinity/postbycommssioner5678

and I leave in the direct link
furaffinity/commissionersname_arttitle.jpg

it re-adds
furaffinity/commissionersname

which can't be deleted until I remove the direct image link. I could not find if this is intended behavior (so there's at least some lead to find the actual source of the pic) or a bug. If it's intended behavior, it's not particularly useful for commissioned pics, especially if the links/gallery are now dead.

I think it was added intentionally with the latest update, which seems odd since I remember being told we shouldn't add links to the user page since it's generally unhelpful to find the actual image (and the artist's sites should be linked in their artist page, making the one on posts redundant and wasteful).

That was my understanding too. I'm not actively hunting for badly sourced images but I try to fix it when I notice it (there really should be an 'uploader is a lazy bastard and should get a warning' button) and I didn't remember it doing that before so I thought it was odd. The last one I didn't realize it was the direct image URL that was doing it, this one I figured out that was the cause. I didn't want to remove the direct link because I thought it might be useful when sharing links and someone's network has e6 blocked but maybe overlooked FA's image server. But the generic gallery links (especially commissioners) are just annoying.

User links should not be added alone, and they should not be added if it's contained within the full source url, like twitter

Unless it's added to the artist's page, which people should be encouraged to do.

That requires clicking through another part of the site and as you say also requires users actually doing that, this is automatic and can't be removed

We have 10 source urls per post to play with, and if it really becomes a problem that limit could be raised

Faving is currently buggy for me. When I click on the button sometimes it just shrinks for a moment, becoming very narrow, and then turns back the way it was before. It seems to work better on second try, and a longer click possibly avoids this issue (haven't tested extensively). Clicking on the left side of the button is also more reliable than the right side. I'm on desktop, Firefox, Windows 10.

I also have the following custom CSS script, but I've had it since the redesign and this issue is new.

I am not going to debug your custom CSS for you. You were the one who made the decision to use styles that could potentially break the site's layout.
Please, confirm if the issue remains without them.

I also use Firefox on Windows 10, and I am not experiencing this behavior.

After logging in to e926, the site stops working (Failbooru/"Something broke" page is displayed). e621 continues to work after signing in, and so does e926 without signin.

Did it work after a refresh? If it's replicable, could you open the console (right click -> Inspect element) before triggering it & reporting what it says?

It's extremely complicated to profile, because even if there is a problem on our end, it's extremely hit or miss, and these problems are typically local to the user. You can find out more information and report your own problems on our dedicated site performance thread, topic #47511.

The hover text isn't showing up for the comic pool covers or pages. It still shows up for the posts. Is this a bug?, because it still showed up yesterday. Does anyone else have this problem? I also noticed that inspecting the post image causes the hover text to show up twice in the inspect function.

Me as well.

The hover text still isn't showing up on the comic pool covers or pages. Is there anyway to get it to show up again, or is this an intentional change? It wasn't mentioned in the changelog. Will this be fixed anytime soon? Am I the only one with this problem?

When I hover over any post, a really big annoying black box pops up listing all of the tags and takes over 33% of the screen. I have no idea how to turn that off and I only started experiencing this today.

Use the search settings (the gear icon above/under the searchbar on the post search page). You can customize how detailed it is or turn it off entirely.

I'll forward it internally. I believe it's due to being nested in other elements in a way that causes it to not register correctly.

When you press enter to add a new source, currently the cursor stays at the end of the current source. It should move to the newly added line instead.

It's fixed in the next release, deployed to e926 right now.

"Fit (Vertical)" is not currently working for me on images that are wider than they are tall.

This post is a good demonstration of the issue.

Selecting "Original", the post is too large, in both axes, to fit on my 27" 1920x1020 monitor. In order to view the comic, I have to scroll both horizontally and vertically to see each panel.

If I select "Fit (Horizontal)", it (correctly) fits the image so that the entire image is visible on my screen, but most of the text is too small too read.

If I select "Fit (Vertical)", I get the exact same result as "Fit (Horizontal)". It limits the size of the image by the width of my screen instead of only the height.

I would have expected it to, instead, fill the entire vertical space available on my monitor so the entirety of a panel is visible on the screen and I would only need to scroll horizontally.

Not sure if this is more of a bug or something I'm doing wrong. For some reason whenever I go on another tab, go to a different window, clicking out of the current window, or clicking anywhere in the site, hotkeys will stop working until I go to another post. I'm currently on OperaGX, not sure if that effects things or not.

cinder said:

Kind of an intentional change, with unintentional side effects.
The hotkeys are more "sticky" now – holding the favorite button will not trigger its effect again and again, for example. You would need to release the key and then press it again in order for the effect to be triggered.

I will have to think of how to bypass this for the scrolling hotkeys.

it would also be nice to be able to disable "smooth scrolling" as it interferes with my style of browsing (having to wait 1/5 of a second for the scroll to complete is a bit too annoying imo)

Is the hover text not showing up on the comic pools bug any closer to being fixed? It's been almost two weeks since there was a reply about it.

The new UI Update broke the CS I have to move some buttons, how would I be able to move these buttons now?

#set {
position: absolute;
top: 90px;
left: 60px;
}

#side-edit-link {
position: absolute;
top: 65px;
left: 10px;
}

It seems like I am unable to have the search activate by hitting enter on mobile. I have to press the icon next to the search bar for it to work.

Edit: Seems to only be the search for posts where you enter tags that is affected. All the others seem to work fine.

Pressing Enter in the search box to do a search doesn't work when the autocomplete list is visible. I have to press Escape to close the autocomplete list and then Enter works to do the search.

Maybe not an explicit bug with the site itself, but the new ToS contains conflicting language regarding the use of site software (completely proprietary) compared to the actual codebase's license (BSD 2-Clause).

The Edit button is under the post, next to the Comments button; the sidebar button was a duplicate.

Ditto. It's very hard to read the notes now. I tap at the notes several times and it rarely responds. I guess reading notes on mobile will now be as hard as making them? (Yes before anyone asks I have Notes:On)

Edit: It seems better now, and sometimes it works pretty smoothly, but when it fails once it fails hard and either the notes don't respond or they open up the editor.

Updated

the tag edit form or one of its child elements does not appear to have a max-width that prevents it from overflowing the screen set on mobile anymore. so if you have too many things (or too many big things) in your recent tags it causes the page to wig out upon clicking edit.

Reporting a bug of staff deleting images and claiming false tags. Either they are blind, or just really not good at their jobs.

Notes act pretty weird and so far it's been pretty hard to replicate the issues. But the entire thing feels like a downgrade in responsiveness and reliability especially compared to the previous version.

Everything is always a downgrade.
Could you elaborate on what you mean by "responsiveness and reliability"?

I do complain quite a bit but I do show appreciation for the added features that I like.

Sometimes a tap send me straight to the editor despite me not being in note editing mode, sometimes a tap is not registered and i have to tap the note again. Sometimes (though more rarely) note interactions fail altogether unless i tap it enough times to bring up note editor.

I feel that the note interaction area (the one used to bring up the note) feels a bit smaller than how it was previously, but that's just what I feel

I dislike the removal the "edit" within the options section on a post.

It doesn't seem logical to only have it further away from all the tools for editing or changing posts.

It is really frustrating on desktop.

I still think it would be good to put the edit back to the options list.

But that is useful, thank you

Terms of service/policy thing keeps popping up even though i've accepted it over 3 times today.

Not really a bug but new popup have some logical issue:
There's privacy policy

But to read privacy policy you need actually to accept it
The same thing applies to the ToS

yeah, I've had it pop up twice now, but only once on e926 when I clicked it like a week ago.

I'm not sure if it's the cookie expiring for some reason or if there's something else causing it to pop up despite the cookie still being there.

Today the TOS popup appeared, but when I clicked "Accept" it just reappeared again. This happened over and over, I would just click Accept and it would appear again. Finally it worked after I slowly scrolled through the entire TOS... I hope that's just a coincidence and not a necessity now...

Likewise. I'm also signed in on multiple devices, if that helps debug the issue.

No, scrolling through the entire TOS is not a requirement.

That form just sets a simple cookie. One that shouldn't expire, at the very least not anytime soon.
It needs to be a cookie, as opposed to using localStorage like the last form, because it must also be usable with JS off.

I'm not sure why this happens, but I did get a few reports of it. So it is a concern that I'm looking into.

I've confirmed why this happened.
Someone on the staff team tripped, fell, and accidentally pressed a button that bumped the ToU version. Twice.

Sorry, everyone.
