I'll confess, at first, I hated MLP. But after sitting down and just watching it, I found I liked many aspects of it. Would never go so far as to call myself a brony, but there's a lot about the show I like.

As far as MLP:FiM goes, I've only seen the absolute first one or two (the pilot was technically two episodes, I guess?) episodes of the show. It is not for me.

The story is cool, the messages and morals are good… but for me—and this is my opinion only, mind—, the majority of the voices sound only slightly better than what was used in old 4K!DS anime mangle-ments. Some sound like the vocal equivalent to vigorously rubbing wet hands over an inflated balloon, or taking an inflated balloon and squeezing the neck taut so that the air coming out makes that really annoying squealing squeaky noise. The art style… well, let's just say it doesn't agree with me; and the animation style makes me feel like I should be able to find every episode on someplace like SWFChan or deviantART. :/

It's NOT a BAD show, but I personally just don't like it. I also wish that I could go at least one full day without it being shoved into my personal space, whether it be via people I know, or via the Internet. And that it would stay in its own little spot. It feels like kudzu: creepin' around like a nice, innocuous ivy, and then suddenly it's smothering everything.

Additionally, while I realize the example used in the following link pertains to SPORTS, it could feasibly apply to MLP:FiM fanatics. It very accurately reflects how I feel when attempting to go to certain places on the Internet (such as KnowYourMeme*, for example) and am relentlessly inundated by 'pony' things:
