@vex714: vehicles since the mid-2000s have no physical connection between the go pedal and the engine; the computer operates a motor on the throttle body which decides how much air gets in. Makes programming for traction control easier: just cut power.

@Sharp_Coyote: ahh ok, so it's for a quicker response from the throttle. I didn't know about cars motors being operated via an internal computer. Though it makes sense to me because how else would diagnostic car readers work?
