Species: wau

The Wau are a species that resembles humanoid lions. Most Wau have tan or brown fur on their bodies, with longer hair of a slightly darker color on the top of their head. Female Wau appear to have three sets of mammary glands, with the top ones resembling those of human females in size and location, with two smaller ones immediately beneath. Wau, or at least some members of the race, possess superhuman senses of smell.

The Wau species, like the human species, were seeded in planets in many locations across the galaxy by earlier Wau civilizations. Humans and Wau can mate without difficulty, offspring typically greatly favor the features of one species or the other but some children with hybrid features exist.

Humans greatly outnumber the Wau in the galaxy and there has, historically, been some discrimination against them, but it is not officially tolerated in the Galaxy Federation.
