Character: cynder
Cynder is a female dragon with black scales and a red underbelly. She acts as the initial antagonist of the Legend of Spyro video game franchise, and eventually turns into a playable character and a love interest for Spyro.
Canonically, Cynder is distinguished by these features (an art may or may not have all of them):
- Head markings and facial markings as well as shoulder markings.
- Neck spikes (except in Skylanders and Skylanders Academy).
- Wears neck ring as well as a pair of armlets. Also has (except in TLoS: The Eternal Night, Skylanders and Skylanders Academy) a tail ring ("corrupt" form has two tail rings).
- Long tapering tail ending with tail blade.
- Red membranous wings are attached to shoulders without membrane connected to the spine (except in Skylanders), and have wing blades.
- Feature six horns (her "corrupt" form has an additional pair of horns attached to the side of her face).
- Originally black scales with red countershading (ventral scales), although starting from TLoS: Day of the Dragon her scales became more purple.

TLoS: Dawn of the Dragon redesign (primary color is dark purple, wing blades rotated outwards instead of inwards, again wearing necklace, armlets and one tail ring, originally more resembling teenager than a child). This design is very often mixed with the previous one in the arts, as can be seen on the second picture in the previous line.

Rare dark Cynder form seen in the very end of TLoS: Dawn of the Dragon, as a counterpart to dark Spyro, when she was corrupted by Malefor again: still "regular" teen proportions, but her eyes are empty white, and her body is coal black.
Skylanders redesign (primary color is now purple with pink/red countershading, wings and forehead markings; head has been made much wider; eyes are blue instead of blue-green):

Skylanders Academy redesign (compared to Skylanders, the eyes are smaller and the orbits are now pointing forwards, the head markings are now grey and the proportions have been changed to make the jewelry less prominent, eyes are back to blue-green) :
