The adepti are a group of entities in Genshin Impact primarily consisting of "illuminated beasts", creatures with supernatural abilities and the ability to speak human language.

Illuminated beasts are capable of reproducing with humans, as we see two half-adepti characters in Ganyu and Yanfei.

They are bound by a contract to protect Liyue from evil gods and spirits, working under the Geo Archon Rex Lapis.
