Its function in humans is mostly to serve as a powerful supinator of the forearm (turns the palm upwards) and to serve as an important flexor of the forearm. In the horse, the biceps' function is to extend the shoulder and flex the elbow.
The biceps are usually attributed as representative of masculinity within cultures.
