Character: garfield the cat
Garfield is the eponymous main character of the Garfield comic strip and media franchise created by Jim Davis. He is a male tabby cat with orange fur, black stripes on his tail and ears, and large toony eyes with black pupils. While he is a feral cat, he displays several anthropomorphic traits such as his tendancy to stand on two legs. Despite being very vocal in his thoughts, he cannot be understood by the human characters.
Garfield is a lazy, egocentric glutton with a sarcastic attitude, a love for lasagna, and a hatred for Mondays. His owner Jon Arbuckle often tries to motivate him into doing tasks such as catching mice but this almost always fails due to Garfield's laziness. He has an often adversarial relationship with Jon's dog Odie, seeing the constantly energetic and dimwitted dog as an annoyance. While he is rather cynical, Garfield does has a softer side that comes out on occasion, most often seen in his love of food and sleep but also with his stuffed teddy bear Pooky.
