Extendable tongs which can be used to physically interact with objects that are more distant than one's arms' length, such as when one is immobilized or when the object is legitimately out of reach.
They can usually be differentiated from standard tongs by way of the varying length, with some methods including interlocking lattice of bars used to pivot the claw at the end forward, or an extendable pole similar to a back scratcher.

They are also sometimes known as a magic hand.
