The king of hearts is a face card used in a deck of playing cards usually portraying the bust of a king holding a sword. It is sometimes known as the "suicide king" due to the sword appearing to stab him in the head. However, the traditional pattern of the sleeve holding the sword matches that of the queen_of_spades, hinting that he may be getting murdered instead.

This card inspired the King of Hearts, a character in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
