swollen
A condition in which a body part is shown to be temporarily puffed out, engorged, or inflamed. This tag should only be used if the swelling is distinctive, and the likely result of a natural bodily response.
Not to be confused with
- belly - Use bloated or pregnant for swollen bellies instead.
- bodily bulges such as abdominal bulge, cheek bulge etc. Do not tag these as swollen.
- erection - In most cases, this should not count as swollen.
- inflation - It probably is not useful to tag this as swollen.
- puffy anatomy - Unless it is being caused by a medical condition such as an infection, anatomical structures such as a plump labia, or puffy anus should not be tagged as swollen.
- swelling - "Swollen is the end state of the swelling process. A part that is swelling, should not be tagged as swollen."
