Lurantis is a grass-type Pokémon based on the orchid mantis. Lurantis is an insectoid Pokémon. The top half of its head is pink and the bottom half is white, while its eyes are large and red. It has two green antennae on its head with a small green lump between them, and four long, earlike appendages grow from the top and sides of its head, with the pair on top tipped in red and the pair on the side tipped in white. It appears to be wearing a long-sleeved dress variously colored pink, red, and white and red-and-pink striped pants, peeking out from under which can be seen a green neck, abdomen, hands, and feet. While Lurantis's arms are thin, each ends in a large praying-mantis-like claw. It also has four red, winglike appendages sprouting from the small of its back, each tipped in white.
