Alastor is a major supporting character on the adult animated series Hazbin Hotel. Throughout the early 20th century he was a Radio Host in New Orleans, Louisiana and a serial killer. He lived long enough to witness the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the beginning of The Great Depression. It is implied that the he died when he was mistaken as a deer and either mauled to death by a pack of hunting dogs, or shot by a hunter in the Bayou.

Regardless, when he died in 1933 he went to hell and became a demon taking on the form of a deer humanoid with grey skin, red eyes and red sclera, red and black hair, sharp teeth, antlers, cowlicked hair meant to resemble deer ears, and hoof prints on the soles of his feet. It is unknown if he has a scut tail. His normal attire consists of a dark red pinstriped coat which is slightly ragged along the bottom, a bright red dress shirt with a black cross on the chest underneath and long burgundy dress pants with matching bright red cuffs.

He is also dressed in a red-knotted bowtie, burgundy gloves, and black pointed-toe boots with red deer hoofprints emblazoned on the soles. Alastor also wears an ovular monocle over his right eye and carries a thin cane with a sentient vintage style microphone attached to it which he uses to play sound effects and broadcast his voice.

Like all demons in hell, Alastor has a Demon Transformation, or True Form. It is only briefly seen in a flashback and a few other scenes. In his true form Alastor's grin becomes inhumanely wider, his eyes begin to glow and his pupils begin to resemble radio dials. His antlers grow into long and ornate branches, his size size increases roughly to that of a big top carnival tent, and his legs become displaced with an empty void inside his coat. The inside of the coat is large enough to house dozens of demons. In this form, Alastor gains Eldritch Powers, Spatial, and Shadow Manipulation. Even without his demon form, Alastor possesses pyrokinesis, the teleportation, the ability to summon other demons from long distances, the ability to conjure objects, voodoo, the ability to alter the costumes and the outfits of others, photokinesis, and forming Faustian Contracts.

Despite being the soul of a mere mortal radio host/serial killer, Alastor wields a borderline god-like amount of raw power, leading to him unleashing a reign of terror, toppling ancient demon overlords that had been ruling over hell for literal centuries overnight. Then, he would broadcast his carnage over the radio so that every demon in hell could bear witness to his abilities. This lead to many damned souls giving him the epithet: "The Radio Demon".

Personality wise Alastor's behavior, mannerisms, and even his voice are similar to an old-fashioned radio announcer; for instance, when he refers to modern television as a "picture show" and refers to Charlie as "charming demon belle". Alastor deviates from the crass nature prominent in Hell in favor of an amiable persona. He notably speaks with a Trans-Atlantic accent which is a cross between an American and British Accent common among radio and TV hosts in America during the early part of the 20th century. Thus, he is always smiling and acts politely. He never stops smiling because he believes it shows power and dominance. If a rival were to frown, he would see them as weak.

He is narcissistic, not seeing many people quite up to his level. However, that does not make him reckless. Despite being extremely powerful, Alastor is fully aware that there are other demons and entities that rival him in terms of power, such as the Overlords. For this reason, he is wary around such demons, as they could potentially harm him if he is not careful.

Alastor also seems to have a moral compass against the sexual and begraddled society of Hell, which is actually "not normal". However, he has been noted to be quite sadistic and to have masochistic tendencies, rumored to be cannibalistic and devouring lesser demons. Despite this, he genuinely wants to help Charlie run the Happy Hotel, albeit for his own amusement rather than idealism. Alastor even dismisses the idea that redemption is possible. Nevertheless, he still provides the hotel a staff, and protects Charlie's business from outside threats.

Alastor tends to be very theatrical with his interactions with others and tends to tell jokes, break out into musical numbers, dance, and enjoys watching performances. His favorite things are Smiling, Invading people's personal space, His mother and her cooking,The Picture Show, Liquor, Cooking, People failing, Electro Swing, Dark Coffee, Post-Modern Jukebox, Anything bitter, Theater, Singing, Dad jokes, The Stock Market Crash of 1929.

Despite having a very romanticized personality, Alastor identifies as Aromantic Asexual, and is completely disinterested and generally disgusted by physical contact and anything remotely sexual.
