Katia Managan is the protagonist of the webcomic series Prequel, which is set in the Elder Scrolls universe. She is a thin female khajiit with yellow fur, tan countershading, black eyes, and yellow sclera. Prequel is written primarily in the second-person, with all of Katia's actions being described as 'you' doing them. Katia also interacts with the audience of the comic in a meta way, with her actions often being influenced or determined by commands submitted by readers. She is aware of these commands and sometimes reacts to them negatively instead of following them blindly.

Katia is a troubled young woman who decided to emigrate from her home in Hammerfell to the province of Cyrodiil in an attempt to restart her life for the better. The comic suggests that her past life in Hammerfell was spent in a state of near-constant inebriation, leaping from bed to bed with whoever (or whatever) would shelter her for the evening. This has left her with an extremely limited set of extremely unsavory skills, which are of no general or respectable use. In effect, she has no skills which can be applied to her new life. Even her natural racial abilities, the khajiit eye of fear and night vision, are completely unpracticed, and she has difficulties using them effectively. She has an interest in magic and in becoming a mage, but has no formal training and a couple of additional barriers which complicate her attempts at magic use.

It is established that Katia has a severe phobia of royalty, and is a recovering alcoholic. The latter problem tends to land Katia in the aftermath of embarrassing escapades, with no memories of the intervening events. None of the events which occur during her alcoholic blackouts are directly described by the comic, but third parties have often mentioned the presence of a yo-yo, a pineapple, and public indecency.

One of Katia's few friends in the comic is an argonian writer named Quill-Weave, who took pity upon Katia and helped her begin her journey of self-improvement. Katia has also befriended "another soldier of the imperial legion", otherwise known as Asotil, and most recently may have befriended a vampire named Nah.
