Sneakers (a.k.a.: Joggers, Casual Shoes), while technically referring to rubber-soled shoes (as the material allows the wearer to have very quiet steps, thus being "sneak"-ers), is a term much more commonly used to describe athletic shoes of any kind.

As the term stands, all sneakers are shoes, but not all shoes are sneakers.
