Invalid: anime

For anthro characters who are "anime styled" use Kemono

Anime is a specific type of animation created in Japan — rather than simply being "Japanese-made cartoons", anime is considered to be a separate medium due to differences in art style, production, writing, audiences, and visual language.

Anime is popular both in and outside of Japan, with a consistently growing number of fans outside of Japan since the 1990s, and over 240 anime conventions worldwide (as of 2023), many with attendances in the high tens of thousands. Anime has also had influence on popular culture abroad, with various movies, animated programs, visual artists, comic books etc. taking inspiration from anime or anime aesthetics.

Anime has also had an especially lasting and deep influence on the artwork of the Furry Fandom, as many Furries are also anime fans, many artists have taken style cues from the medium, if not outright creating anime-style art (e.g. kemono or chibi designs).
