Tears are fluid secreted by the lacrimal glands. These secretions are salty and overflows from the eye(s).
Tears appear in the form of drops that run down the cheeks: the verb used to describe the production of tears is "crying".
This tag is used to refer to images or animations in which at least one character has tears on their face/around their eye(s), but may not be actively crying. This includes a single tear drop in the corner of each eye. Example below:
