When a character is clearly, visibly transgender – that is, when there is evidence that they are undergoing, or have undergone, surgery to present as a different sex.

This is not a gender tag. It exists separately from, and neither affects, nor is affected by, the gender tags.

Things that might make a character visibly_trans, especially when seen together:

• Mastectomy scars on what we tag as an andromorph
• Orchiectomy scars (see eunuch) on what we tag as a gynomorph
• Mammoplasty scars
• An enlarged clitoris
• Breast binding, often with tight clothing such as sports bras, breast binders, or bandages
• Penis tucking, however use caution with this and only tag tucking as visibly trans when it's very obvious (i.e. a character wearing a gaff.)

As always, use your best judgment. For example, mastectomy scars don't make a character trans if there's evidence in the post of breast cancer.

Things that do not make a character visibly_trans:

• Statements from the character owner or artist (see trans_(lore))
• How the character is tagged in other posts

• Gender transformation, which is a short-lived process, often supernatural
