  • that's pretty similar to newgrounds' equally dumb policies too. loli character given boobs? looks adult to me, it stays.chibi adult? that's a minor, illegal.day

How does that stop minors from being exploited?

  • Wait but isn't evolution state not related to the Pokémon's age?
A Pikachu could be 30 years old while a Raichu could be 3 as far as I remember.

  • The whole age thing in fiction is already a completely ridiculous waste of time. But at some point, it turns into utter delusion. I think fa finally reached that point.

But 'ey, i'll continue to *not* pay 5 a month so I can use their paid blacklist to stop seeing gore and extreme scat on the front page. Gotta protect 'em all. Smh.

  • I mean some pretty solid takes on the subject say if we disallow fictional lolis, those who used fiction as a harmless outlet might just turn to IRL child rape.

The biggest public conversation about this was on the FurAffinity Discord server, and participating in that was a chore on a functional level. It was held in a user posted SFW channel that would time you out for using language it deemed too NSFW (I suspect automatically.)

The channel was gone last I checked, so even that avenue is closed and gone now.

Though, I do think that the people whom are dangerous and compelled to enact sexual abuse onto children should take the responsibility and seek a more robust solution/help for that problem, and prevent it by any means available and necessary. Even the mildest temptation in this regard is unacceptable.

  • This whole thing reminded me I had an unused FA account. Will be deleting it tomorrow since I don't need having my old stuff hanging on that site. I feel much more cozy here for now. Unrelated reasons but, meh. As for the stuff they banned? Plenty of it elsewhere, so nothing of importance was done. And sadly, until real world people start doing real world things to protect real world people, we could ban the fictional stuff from everywhere and it will keep happening to real people in the real world...

Yep. There's even that old ass Treeko in the anime.

Problem is that even those who want help are too scared to reach out due how people will react. Not many will care that they're seeking help, they'll still see a dangerous animal that, in their minds, needs to be put down for the good of everyone else.

Sadly, the people most likely to abuse children are family and close acquaintances.

Yeah, and many will likely not have the drive to stop themselves. It's horrifying, and my heart goes out the victims.

But should they be willing to seek help before harming someone, I mean it from a third party specializing in it, of course. I don't think any relationship, marriage or partnership is readily equipped to handle such a heavy thing on their own.

That's exactly what they intend to do with this policy, except it's a little worse even. Anything that's "child coded" per their interpreted definition isn't allowed. The height (regardless of age or lore) is their first qualifier to this, if they one day decide to include behavour of a character, it could be literally anything.

Mind you, cub art has not been allowed on FurAffinity per the upload policy since 2006 and everyone there has adhered to it. Since there's literally zero reason for this recent change, it's led many to believe it's due to pressure from inside or a third party we're not allowed to know about.

there was some bs argument that kids could google the species and "accidentally" get yiff as a result.

why Nintendo always does yiff sweeps when new generation of pokemon is going to drop, they are worried that kids would get exposed to it....but ignore that browsers are set by default to filter out explicited sites and results....so minors have to deliberately change their settings to allow nsfw content.

i mean i guess in the end it's part of the but to claim they tried...
    and minors went around it

Someone putting words into my mouth. The tag was removed from post #4078118 due to that post just offhandedly mentioning asking for an id, I asked internally and this post was left alone due to saying "illegal now".

    Policy of whom?

    FA/fur affinity.

Pokémon like pikachu and digimon like gatomon are bannable.

which is funny because renamon a rookie is still allowed and gatomon is an adult/champion and pikachu is a stage 2.

its super [f]-ducking dumb and they are going to lose alot of people because of it.

you'd think that would be common knowledge, but the IQ of average person is getting lower every year.

    yeah.

i won't say much on the topic as its a hot button issue but i have a "theory" that porn keeps alot of pedos off the streets and from actually hurting irl kids.

like as much as i dislike pedos we still dont know if its a mental illness or not becuase nobody wants to poke that bear with a 100 foot pole.

like i said i have a big theory on that but most sites wont allow me free speech.

while i agree with you that their should be a better option.

i disagree with line "Even the mildest temptation in this regard is unacceptable."

i have a little brother and have had several little siblings

and imo i would rather a pedo be kept at home fapping then on the streets hurting someone like my brother.

like i said i agree with the statment but not the end result of the statment.

but i know this is a complex situation

like i said prior we still don't know if being a pedo is a mental problem or not because nobody wants to take the risk of proving it IS, because then that just gives them a out.

its very complex but im of the firm stance "do whatever keeps kids safest."

as long as no irl kids are being hurt then i don't care what you do with your ding dong.

and honstly i'd say that is a perfectly reasonable stance to have just like yours is.

i agree. its a horrible thing to have a friend or family member abuse you like that to become a victim of someone you once thought loved and cared about you.

Honestly kids shouldn't be on sites like these or even see rule34 artwork but too often it seems like it happens.

And if safe search cannot stop it then its completely understandable why a new rule would have to be put in place, I just wish FA was transparent about that if it is the case then.

Because then we could just move it to one singular site rather then getting rid of it completely.

My biggest problem with this is as a true lover of art nearly hundreds of thousands of art pieces are going up in smoke from artists who are no longer on the site or can't/couldn't move it quick enough.

It makes me frustrated just thinking about all that lovely art that could have been collected now gone.

So I just talked with a friend of mine who's a docter and apparently they are told to NOT help you if you are a pedo and go to seek treatment and instead just call the cops and lie about who called them, WTF.

That's so fucked up you can't even go in for treatment without cops being called and you being thrown in prison, so its no wonder they keep it to themselves.

Also apparently IT IS a mental medical condition.

    This world is fucked.

Apparently some of the better docters are trying to fight to treat these patients but people In society and the government make it really really hard.

I'm going to say this now if you REALLY ACTUALLY 100% CARE ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESS call your local politicians and tell them you want pedos who go in for treatment to be given the same rights as any other patients.

We shouldn't discourage people seeking help with their medical problems.

If you actually care about mental illness then you will help fix the wrongs society is doing to people who WANT to be treated.

I don't believe that 100% of the population are just pretending to care about helping people with such a severe illness.

I believe that our society has gone so far in demonizing anything tangentially related to pedophilia (I.E. Lolicon) to the point that when actual real life abuse is involved and you decide speak up in defense of someone who admits that they genuinely want to touch real life children (but there is a possibility that they haven't acted on those thoughts) and that they need to be treated by mental health professionals for it are then liable to have scrutiny cast upon themselves.

And, since everyone and their mother is online nowadays it only takes one person to think "you spoke up in defense of a pedo which by default makes you a pedo" to then have that unproven claim spread all across social media and eventually to news outlets.

Next thing you know your friends, neighbors, and coworkers all found out, you've been fired from your job and blacklisted from the job industry in general, and someone has called CPS on you and your family and now you've lost your kids.

Your life is now in complete shambles because you genuinely wanted to help someone who needed it and in the process save a possible future victim. And then you think to yourself "I could have prevented this tragedy from happening to me if i had only kept quiet".

All of this happening because it's easier for the government to write those people off as lost causes, throw them into a cell and toss away the key, and then pat themselves on the back for saving the world from another monster in the making.

TL;DR people are too scared of life ruining consequences from both chronically online idiots and sheeple who believe everything the news and thier government tells them to outright speak up in getting actual pedophiles the mental health support they need.

I haaaaate this argument. If I lose access to the cub tag on e621 I’m not all of a sudden going to start committing crimes against actual human beings. Go to therapy or something, if that’s really a problem for you (the royal “you”)

Weeeell...it's not ENTIRELY unfounded. In Japan, they had a drastic decrease in crimes regarding sexual assault with the legalizing of more niche pornography such as loli. A parallel can also be made within the USA, as we saw a decline in crime rates after home video game consoles were created.
