Alias what_has_science_done -> what.
Reason: aren't they pretty much used for the same things?
[edit] My bad, should have been alias (Fixed)

I can see where there would be some crossover, but one is 'weird' and the other is horrifying/anatomy so poor that it's hilarious and/or physics bending.

Would an alias be more apt in that case?
There are some who have a fondness for the tag though
If used literally, it would depict situations of,or resulting from mad-science,certain science fiction and the like. But it seems to get slapped on everything from
fine art parodies
controversial topics
whatever's going in this pic
book covers and
graters (guro)
Edit:comma abuse

Personally, I tend to see "what" as something random and/or confusing, such as Darth Vader pouring water from a Brita filter into a cup while standing in the middle of a lake, or a gigantic 2-story rubber ducky floating next to a couple of yachts at harbor. And I see "what_has_science_done" as a label for various unclassified horrific creatures or creatures that are otherwise abominations for some reason, such as the penis monster from post #158279, though that's not really a great example since it would probably be more appropriate to use penis_monster, instead.
So I do think the two have distinct meanings and could be separately useful, but since they're subjective and/or silly tags I don't think we're ever going to see consistent usage of them. It seems especially so for what_has_science_done; the only item from titaniachkt's list that I would consider remotely appropriate use is post #158279, noting what I said above about there probably being a better tag to use instead.
And seriously, who tags a perfectly vanilla Berenstain Bears parody as "what_has_science_done"? (Apparently AmyRosePrincess does.) That just seems incorrect.
I guess it's another tagging project to add to the heap. Someone else can deal with what_has_science_done guro, though. I stay far, far away from guro these days.

That sounds like a pretty good clarification, ikdind.
If no-one's in disagreement with that distinction, I'll modify the wiki to reflect it

Sounds good as well, agreed
Oh, and once we're all in agreement about which tag is for what, I'll start sorting those guro pics

That's my point people just seems to be slapping what_has_science_done on images that just needed a nightmare_fuel, science or what tag
