The bulk update request #12208 is pending approval.
create alias breed (1213) -> breeding (0)
Reason: This tag has no wiki description, and appears to be used synonymously with the "breeding" meaning. breeding has already been invalidated, so this should be aliased to it. The only foreseeable issue is that "breed" can have multiple meanings (such as animal breeds), but other meanings don't appear to be used with this tag.
In lieu of my topic, yeah I looked through this tag and there is exactly one post out of over a thousand where the usage of breed seems to be referring to the topic of animal breeds rather than sex. post #4120006
I see no reason for this to go any other way.
Like I mentioned on the other thread, the breed tag needs to be mass updated to an appropriate alternative before being aliased to invalid breeding tag.
I would have suggested moving everything to sex or impregnation, but looking at breed -sex -impregnation, there are quite a few breeding_request posts.
This needs to be cleaned up significantly before being mass updated and aliased away.

Aliasing to an invalidated tag isn't the worst, there's nothing this can really be mass updated to.

Dumping 1.1k posts into breeding would make it the second highest invalid tag by post count.

Why not just nuke it? It's a tag that ultimately doesn't mean anything and can't be mass updated into one single tag without massive cleanup.

While that is true any privileged user can remove a tag from up to 120 posts a minute under perfect conditions, averaging 90 a minute or ~5400 an hour
Tags this small really should just be nuked by a privileged user if that's the conclusion rather than waiting for an admin to both create the BUR then also wait for votes
Also many tags in the invalid category get nuked regularly, I nuke invalid tag decently often and have nuked some other invalid tags

I didn't suggest nuking all invalid tags. That's a whole new sentence.
In all honesty I imagine I could clean up this tag within an afternoon or two to prime it for invalidation. It's not too many posts in the grand scheme of things.

well at least to the same extent that breed/breeding does. Is that not the suggestion taken to its logical conclusion?
Cleaning up breed as we speak; breeder may be another tag that's a candidate for invalidation. It's another decently sized tag with no wiki that doesn't have a consistent theme in its use. Perhaps intended to be an alternative to breeding_slave?
