Duuude, I actually own this on CD!

Man I'm jelly, all I got is just the digital download version from Bandcamp. It's hd 24 bit quality which sounds better than a CD could, but it'd be awesome to own it physically. I don't own a turntable but vinyl is always the best for this kinda music. Everything from the Warp label is pretty good. They have some great compilation albums too. In particular Pioneers Of The Hypnotic Groove, The Evolution Of The Groove, Tequila Slammers And The Jump Jump Groove Generation, and of course you can't forget the two Artificial Intelligence ones

Ah oh, I accidentally tapped Report instead of Reply and made a report on you with that as the text when I wasn't paying close enough attention. Edit: A nice mod resolved it for me, now I feel stupid tho

Various artists compilation albums (and DJ Mixes) are great ways to find good edm music. More so than fishing through singles and lp albums. The Abstract Funk Theory series is a nice one that covers different genres each release and each mixed by different prominent artists. There's always a "Presented by" in the title and the presented by Circulation one is my favorite. They're a deep house duo and their "Colors" albums are nice if you're into progressive deep house kinda music.

I've been collecting vinyl since around 2008. The very first record I bought was a sealed original copy of Masters At Work's 1993 album The Album. The most recent record I bought was a 2022 reissue of The Winstons' 1969 album Color Him Father.

I’ve been collecting vinyl records as well. I probably have almost 100 records

I also have Electro-Soma on vinyl

That's the 2017 remastered vinyl going by the catalog number (Warp LP9R). How does the sound compare to the audio from the original CD or the Anthology versions? If you've ever heard the original CD. I've listened to the original one and the I+II one from Bandcamp and the newer one sounds a lot cleaner/clearer and has more punchy bass, but I've never listened to that specific remaster. It might just be the same master they used for the tracks on the I+II version tho

What other classics do you have on vinyl? I've gotten tons of vinyl rips in 24bit flac on my hard drive and they usually always sound better than CDs unless the mastering was done poorly. Still doesn't compare to listening using the legit vinyl tho. I've listened to several different masterings and represses of Daft Punk's Discovery (including digital hd versions) and the one I've found to sound better than all the rest is this vinyl reissue from 2022. It's like all the comments on it says, it's just a perfect sounding vinyl.

Daft Punk - Discovery (ADA – 0190296617164)

Also I've had the pleasure of getting to watch the anime movie that uses Discovery as the story/soundtrack. It's called Interstella 5555: The 5tory Of The 5ecret 5tar 5ystem and I highly recommend it. It was an amazing experience

Not really a whole lot of difference, aside from the usual pops and crackles you get from vinyl. I guess it depends on what audio equipment you're using.

Niiice, I've been trying to get into electro more lately. Have you ever heard anything from Carl Finlow? He goes by the names Voice Stealer and Random Factor. With Random Factor being his main one and he just released a new album last year under it (the first one in 14 years too)

Convergence is my favorite album from him:

Random Factor - Convergence

Not sure how many people here are interested in vocaloid, but I really love songs by Shiinamota a.k.a Powapowa P! Been listening to his songs for several years now, but I can never pass up the opportunity to recommend his stuff. Shame what happened to him though. RIP Shiinamota.

Okayyyy, I think that should be good enough lol. I'd add every song of his if I could!

Another couple of albums I'm listening to by The Scary Jokes! Love their music and I really love the upbeat, yet melancholic electronic sounds contrasting the dark, yet strangely calming lyrics. Here's some of my favorite albums! The 2021 Mix of April Fools doesn't change much, but a noticeable change in quality. I prefer the original though. More nostalgic!

Linkin Park Fighting myself such a great song from the Meteora era. They released some good unreleased songs from those recording sessions that they put out for the 20th anniversary of it.

Love that song, but it seems to be overshadowed by Lost. That song gets tons of radio play

It does get overshadowed when compared to lost.

But I relate to the bridge in Fighting Myself more

"I can't run with this weight on my back / I can't see cause I'm focused on the past"

I relate a lot with mikes first verse with

“I try to act like I don't mind it, try to keep my mouth so quiet
But sittin' there in my silence just seems to amplify it”

I tend to keep to myself and my friends can tell when something is bothering me

Yeah the whole song hits me on a personal level. It's this song and Race Against Myself by The Offspring that explain my struggles well

I love the fact that it sounds like Rob Bourdon is pounding the hell out of the drums on Fighting Myself just before the bridge

I'm slowly beginning to appreciate Led Zeppelin. Instrumentally at least. Robert Plant's screeching vocals still grates my nerves. The song You Shook Me from their debut album is one of the more irritating ones vocally. The guitar riff from Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just a Woman) is unquestionably one of the most iconic of all time. In some of their early tracks you can really feel the connection that British Metal had to Blues Rock. The song Dazed and Confused for some reason made me think of Black Sabbath. Fun fact that I just happened to learn just now: Robert Plant hates the song Livin' Loving' Maid and has refused to play it live for over the past 50 years

Just finished listening to this album for the first time, and it blew my mind. Amazing soulful and jazzy deep house with not a dud or weak track on the whole album. (I've not listened to any of the remix versions from the limited edition one tho)

Kings Of Tomorrow - It's in the Lifestyle

If you enjoyed that album I also highly suggest this one. It's a lot more disco oriented house than the KOT album was, but it's one of my favorites that I like to revisit from time to time.

Tonka - 84

That playlist is missing the last few tracks from it so here they are:

Tonka - She Knows You

Tonka - Don't Be Afraid (To Let Yourself Go)

Hadn't heard of them, that's breddy gud.

Here's one that's been bouncing around my braincase for the past year. It's incredibly haunting and beautiful. Kiltro - Kiltro

They are huge in Europe, but here in the states, hardly anyone has heard of them. Youtube got me into them about a decade ago

I think the best pre Black Album Metallica song is probably Fade to Black. Or at least it's my favorite 80s Metallica song. Nothing Else Matters is my overall favorite. It's a surprisingly beautiful love ballad song. Not what you would expect lyrically from a band like them

Enter Sandman is my favorite due to the iconic solo

I enjoy sad but true off the black album. Nothing else matters is also a great song from the black album.

The line "Hush little baby don't say a word, and nevermind that noise you heard. It's just the beasts under your bed, in your closet, and in your head" is also pretty badass
