Penile Masturbation tag is to broad of a tag and holding_penis with it is lightly used and not totally accurate.

I don't follow, what is the issue with the tag? I assume it has to do with the many posts wronguflly tagged as masturbation, when it's actually sex.

I think that jerk_off is ambiguous but it's ambiguity is whether it's referring to a doing it to a partner or self so, I'm not sure it should be aliased to masturbation. and autohandjob is probably less ambiguous but it just kinda sounds weird, I dunno.

either way we really ought to have a tag to describe this situation, it's a really weird gap in tagging. we have fingering_self for manual stimulation of an orifice but no tag for manual stimulation of a penis or other similar appendages a character might have (pseudo-penis, tentacles, weirdly long and phallic nipples, etc.).

I think autohandjob might be a reasonable solution. When the penile_masturbation tag was first proposed (topic #10652) I think the fact penile masturbation can be done with more things than just the hand was overlooked.

something like manual_masturbation should work, we have tail_masturbation which is essentially the same idea but with tails. it'd probably also include stuff like fingering_self although that's probably not actually that a big problem.

Other forms of penile_masturbation, such as auto_penis_lick, only imply it. So, autohandjob should be an implication as well, while it is currently an alias.

I don't think the distinction between autohandjob and penile_masturbation will be all that clear. And autohandjob could be confused for any masturbatory act using a hand (anal/vaginal/cloacal masturbation), just as autotailjob is any masturbatory act using a tail. Some *job tags only apply to the penis while others apply to any sexual stimulation, and it's confusing for which are which. The vast majority of posts with masturbation will be using the hand, which makes a tag specifically for it largely redundant since search results will be mostly the same.

While a positive search with penile_masturbation will be largely using a hand, it would still be very difficult to specifically blacklist. Best you could do is something like penile_masturbation -auto_penis_lick -autofellatio -autotitfuck, but that would clearly blacklist a lot of other posts as well, as a quick look through the search shows. That said, a new tag wouldn't be particularly helpful for blacklisting either, unless it was very well tagged.

Edit: Hang on, autotailjob says "The same as a tailjob, only used for when a character does it to themselves.". tailjpb specifically says penis. I think you're thinking of tailplay.
That said, some of the other *job tags do say any genitals; that should definitely be fixed, otherwise yeah it's confusing.
