Topic: [APPROVED] glitch pokémon bur

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #2483 is active.

remove implication glitch_pokémon (0) -> pokémon (0)
create implication glitch_pokémon (0) -> pokémon_(species) (0)

Reason: glitch_pokémon are a subset of pokémon_(species), so the existing implication is not specific enough

couldn't think of a funny title

related: topic #32735

EDIT: The bulk update request #2483 (forum #334606) has been approved by @bitWolfy.

broken record but i'm still in favor of aliasing (most of) these away

Of the tags listed, I'd say only legendary_pokémon, regional_form_(pokémon) and ultra_beast are pointless, as they only require that one of a certain subset of species appears somewhere within the image. shadow_pokémon is a variant tag along the same lines as shiny_pokémon, providing additional information that you can't get from species tags alone. starter_trio and elemental_monkeys at least require a specific combination of species to be present, and unknown_pokémon is important during leak season to blacklist spoilers.

Also, Watsit forgot to mention my personal bugbear, fossil_pokémon, which also has the incorrect implication.

Agreed on aliasing away legendary, fossil, regional form, and ultra beast. And since the topic of Pokémon implications has come up yet again, I’m going to reiterate that we really ought to imply scalie, avian, etc. from Pokémon species. Leaving the mammal issue aside for now, we could at least start with those. There’s currently no useful way to subdivide the, like, 1000 or so Pokémon species, and all these other subdivisions already in existence (legendary, fossil, etc.) aren’t remotely useful since the constituent species have virtually nothing in common except some lore information that people who haven’t played a lot of Pokémon may not even be aware of. At least identifying them as avian, reptilian, aquatic, and so on would actually be useful.
