What if somebody draws one as a dog? Same could happen with Tasque. These half-character half-species Darkners seem to follow suit of Pokemon or Digimon.

Reason: Got removed from topic #30862 because of implication #41569 blocking it. If the avian implication is approved, it would need to be rewritten to swatchling instead of swatchling_(deltarune).

They seem more species than character to me. And, well, they do appear avian.
What if someone drew a dragon as a dog? Well, it wouldn’t be a dragon anymore, and so shouldn’t get the tag. Same here, no? Unless it’s a hybrid and qualifies for both tags. But unless a swatchling is drawn to look like a swatchling, which in turn looks like an avian, it should not get the swatchling tag at all, IMO. Again, the one possible exception being a sort of hybrid.

Right. I'm not a fan of the "half-species half-character" tag idea that plagues pokemon, either. As a species tag it's completely useless to find a specific character with it, and in any other case when there's ambiguity or conflict over what a tag refers to, an alternate one is used. If we have an artist and character sharing the same name, we don't just leave it as an Artist tag that can also be applied to the character. Similarly, if there's two different characters with the same name, we don't just shrug our shoulders and go "oh well, nothing we can do...". We find alternate names, or in the worst case, add a suffix to distinguish between the different categories or characters.

But either way, these two BURs can't be applied together. I agree with Furrin Gok's alias that the _(deltarune) suffix is unnecessary since swatchling seems unique enough on its own. So aliasing swatchling_(deltarune) -> swatchling and implicating swatchling -> avian would be my suggestion.
