1. Do we really, really need to use the full name of the character?
2. Why in god's name does it end with (bojack_horseman)?

According to topic #18732, hollyhock_(bojack_horseman) is the proposed short-form tag to be used in ease of tagging, but they had preferred the original full name to take precedent when being displayed.

Probably a pseudo-joke tag, along the lines of that_one_bug_that_looks_like_a_croissant_that_you_can_freeze_and_use_as_a_platform or that_flower_what_appears_in_your_lawn_but_nobody_gives_a_single_fuck_of_her_(character).

Hey the croissant tag at least still uses the Ripper tag. hollyhock_(bojack_horseman) and hollyhock should be unaliased from the big tag, aliased to one or the other, and then the other implicated to the big tag.

Those two are fairly niche. I'm not sure how to feel about a notable character from a popular show getting a joke tag as her one and only tag.

Reason: Having a ridiculously long name as the main tag, especially with that identifier stapled on, for a character from a popular show who has a decent number of posts, is... questionable. hollyhock_(bojack_horseman) seems perfectly fine as the default.

it's actually messing with the site's format it's that big

I should think that hollyhock_mcquack would be sufficient as that would likely be the most current surname she uses on her tax return, even if that sounds a heck of a lot like a refugee from Ducktales. There's being thorough, but that has to bow before practicality sometimes.

It's their official name, that happens to also be a joke. A better question is, why shouldn't it be a joke tag? It's not like it's hard to use given the aliases, or to understand who it's referencing (Hollyhock is the first word in the tag that's also their first name, and it has _(bojack_horseman) at the end in case it's still ambiguous).

technically, it's not a joke tag, it's her name.

It is literally causing visual bugs in the site's interface. It simply does not need to be that long, tags are meant to be easy to search and nothing more. Why are people hanging on to this thing so wholeheartedly? If you want something funny to look at, go look up the humor tag.

you can type hollyhock in search and the tag shows up.
So what you said is kinda invalid. At least the case where you said searches are
meant to be easy...which it is...you just type hollyhock...then boom it's there, her full name
