Topic: "young" aliases

Posted under General

So, it used to be that loli was a valid tag.
Apparently it was decided to alias it to "young".
I'm not sure why, because now to find what you'd get from that 1 tag, you have to search "young female human".
And that's still not even 100% because it pulls up shota with an adult female in the picture too.

Same goes for shota, except obviously male not female.

yes, I'm suggesting we remove the alias from loli and shota
Perhaps change it to an implication

the biggest hurdle in reinstating the loli/shota tags is the fact that that there are over 10,000 pictures tagged young. that is... a vast tagging project.

but should it?

Only 200 tagged "young human"
Not that vast.

Loli and Shota only apply to human characters.

If we had no max to the number of tags you could use for a search then there wouldn't be an issue, but when you have to use half of your available tags to find one point of subject matter you're looking for, and not even accurately, you should keep the single tag.

well. here's another question. SHOULD loli and shota only cover humans?

if someone is here on e621, rather then gelbooru or lolibooru or whatever, they have interest in furries. and the same problem would exist for the furry younglings as well.

(loli=human only) vs (loli=human/cub) vs (current)
---
finding only humans: "loli" vs "loli human" vs "young female human"
finding only furries: "young female -human" vs "loli -human" vs "young female -human"
finding both: "young female" vs "loli" vs "young female"

...I think that's right, anyway....

the 'middle collum' is a lot easier for everyone.

Considering that the reason loli was removed was that it was the equivalent of female_fox as a tag (only focusing on an age, not a species..).. perhaps opening the definition to cover both humans and furries, would put it into the same territory as milf, gilf/gmilf and similar tags.

but then, 10,000 pictures.
