Topic: feminine ambiguous characters with no visible genitals and the misuse of the 'female' tag

Here's an example. So, repeatedly, I've seen janitors and mods lock tags that straight up do not apply to such images. They don't even follow the TWYS rule which I could swear was the most holy rule of tagging on this site.

Why are these and similar images not tagged with ambiguous gender + girly? I cant fathom a reason that doesn't conflict with TWYS.

Janitors or moderators cannot lock tags, only admins. I also personally suck at advanced tagging.

Additionally we have 2.1 million posts uploaded as I'm writing this, consistancy is desired and aimed towards but not 100% doable thanks to sheer amount of data and people we have.

Additionally do keep in mind that ambiguous is generally reserved if there's absolutely zero sexual dismorphism indications (there are actually more than genitals and breasts to this) and that posts where admins haven't taken a look, tags are most likely not enforced until someone reports the post.

As was said in that post:

Actually, here it does. Something can't be both ambiguous_gender and girly

To be girly, the character has to be male-bodied (aka male, maleherm, or andromorph). If it can be identified as one of those types, it wouldn't be ambiguous. If it has a girly figure and is otherwise ambiguous, then female applies:

Here is the link which describes how and why genders are tagged here.

This particular image I believe falls under this category
4.B.iv) Unknown genitals - Breasts + Female body = Female

No genitals are visible, no breasts are present, and it has a feminine/girly figure. Thus, the female tag (flat-chested females do exist). If it was truly ambiguous, it couldn't be girly.

That's exactly what they ARE doing, though. I've said it before a few times, I'll likely end up saying it again in the future: TWYS does NOT mean "Tag according to your interpretation of what's in the image," it instead means "tag according to what can be visually verified to exist in the image, based on a freely-accessible list of criteria." By "what you see," the rule simply means "the raw data presented by your eyes."

Personally, I agree: I don't think that girly bodies should be assumed to be female. But this is not my, or your, site, so sometimes ya just have to go with what the people in charge say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
