@vex714: there was one tragic event a long time ago that's faded into obscurity, the Grand Avenue gang shootout that left a few people dead. I remember the black and white photos of bodies on the bloody pavement.

@vex714: I bet almost nobody knows back in 1968 there was snow in Escondido. In the old School yearbooks there were pictures of kids all wrapped up in the most clothes as possible.

@Syderen: hmm, interesting. The exact same can be said about my town. Before the grape vineyards it was Plums. It was a hunting/farming community. That history is obscured. It's changed. Basically a parallel to "City Part Of Town" Episode from South Park.

@vex714: you should watch Ken Kramer's About San Diego, you'll learn some fascinating history and there were a few stories about Escondido.

@vex714: before avocados, Escondido was known for citrus. There are some pictures and documents from the old days that are still preserved. There have been a lot of events that occurred in the city's history that have faded into obscurity.
