I run a local "buissness" that fixes controllers here in the Netherlands, and i gotta say, the Nintendo joycons are one of my favourites to fix (especially because they're so common)

    On how unfixable they make products these days.
    Like everyone and their mom could fix a ps3 controller, but dont you dare to try to fix a ps4/5 controller because you will be in a hell of a time

    I absolutely REFUSE to upgrade anything if I can help it. When you learn how electronics work, how to use a soldering iron effectively, it really opens your eyes how bullshit these companies really are. They want to warn you "Hey don't do this you'll void your warranty!" but the so called "warranty" is going to expire at the *exact* point of time the product fails these days. I completely ignore "non-user serviceable" warnings for the same reason, I know what I'm doing.

    I've been resoldering the same headphones for years. The only time I bothered getting something new was a pair of earbuds just to not hurt my ears so badly.

    https://e926.net/ is our sister/mirror site. It's like having a sfw filter on just the images, because it only shows the images that are rated "Safe". Explicit and questionable rated images aren't on there. Nsfw thumbs (pfp, embeds on wiki pages, etc) will show as a 'deleted' thumb, if I remember right. The text, wiki, comments, forum etc can still show mixed topics, so it's not completely sfw. But it's one way to browse for only images with the Safe rating. A link to a post on e926 is also on here, just switch the "e926" part of the URL to be "e621" instead. It's roughly like a sfw images only pre-filtered-version of e621, rather than being truly separate.

    That's oddly reassuring. I don't know why, but I find comfort in knowing that stuff that didn't work for me, are in fact, never supposed to work.
    Maybe because it gives proof that it wasn't my fault it didn't work?

    Also sorry for using this platform to vent. I've been in a crisis since the last few days.

    What a crazy year 2022 was, i can look back on it fondly (luckily) .

    I don't have a new year's resolution (because they are proven not to work), but i do have a sort of theme for the year CGP grey has a good video abt it and i have been following it since.

    Cheers to everyone and hopefully well have a good 2023!

    And how they always say it in the Netherlands: "veel heil en zegen voor jullie allen"

    Way to end a year. I just learned someone made double my bank account for a commission and I'm not sure if I even want to touch my drawing tablet anymore. I don't understand how success stories are supposed to motivate me.

    Anybody know how long BURs usually take to approve? I've had one pending for 5 months now despite being upvoted by an admin, and I'm wondering if it's slipped through the cracks/if I should submit a new one.

    I dabbled a bit on an OpenAI for to explain me what this website is and represents just for shit’s ‘n giggles. A 99.9% probability answer is given by this AI which apparently conjures up all kinds of knowledge. I even asked one more question that some of us might relate. (The green bars is the AI’s answers to my question.)

    Anyone else have an issue earlier that whenever i tried typing i.e searching tags the screen went black and i couldnt see anything but the searches still worked its working now was just frustrating
