The consumption of an edible items, usually in order to obtain sustenance or pleasure.
Ingestion process
Ingestion refers to the intake of a substance (food, drink, something else) into the body through the mouth.
Stage 1: "Nomming" stage
- The food, or prey is shoved partially, or fully into the character's mouth. This may or may not be following by a biting action.
Stage 2: Chewing stage
- The food, or prey is broken down into smaller pieces. Alternatively the ingestion could involve the substance being slurped down, or drank during this stage.
Stage 3: Swallowing stage
- The food, or prey being forcibly pushed into, and down the esophagus (throat area) into the stomach.
