shackles
Shackles are a specific, heavy type of cuff_(restraint).
Historically, shackles were used to define thick, round metal_cuffs linked by a chain; the term most often refers to ankle cuffs, but this is not mandatory. Shackles are much wider than handcuffs.
Not to be confused with police handcuffs.
For tagging purposes, use shackles if:
- Wide metal_cuffs are linked by a chain of significant length (more than a few links), or
- The metal_cuffs are very bulky
Add magical_binding if the shackles are magic, and metal_cuffs otherwise.
Do not use shackles for:
- Traditional thin police handcuffs (use handcuffs instead)
- leather_cuffs
- fuzzy_handcuffs
