When two or more characters are drawn in visually distinct artistic styles from one another and are shown existing together within a scene or otherwise interacting with one another.

Common Tropes
  • crossover fan art where the characters are drawn on model to their respective source material
  • toony or chibi characters drawn alongside more detailed and anatomically/proportionally realistic characters
    • This can apply to fan art where some characters are draw on model, while one or more characters are drawn in the artist's style
Not to be confused with...
  • multiple styles — this is intended to describe posts where a single character is drawn in different styles
    • This can involve style crossover in cases of a square crossover between different instances of the same character, drawn in different styles, interacting with one another
