The Sunday before Easter is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week in Christian tradition. The day gets its name from the palm branches waved by the crowd as they greeted and honored Jesus when he made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
There are many traditions practiced on this day across the world. In Finland, children frequently dressed up as Easter witches and go door-to-door to trade decorated pussy willow branches for coins and candy.
