A wrestling singlet (or simply a singlet) is a one-piece, tight-fitting, article of sportswear clothing, used in wrestling that's made of elastic materials like spandex. It consists of straps that go over the shoulders similar to a tank top fused at the waistline to a shorts-like bottom.
Variations:
- post #4155131 The high cut, which covers most of the chest and reaches up to the under-arms on the side.
- post #2173047 The low cut, which reaches down to the lower/middle abdomen in the front, reaches down to the hips on the sides, and features a single strap that runs up the back that is very thin.
Not to be confused with:
- Tank Top - Usually made of polyester and cotton without a bottom part.
- Also, a tank top and shorts are two separate articles of clothing that are not joined at the waistline, unlike a wrestling singlet.
- One-piece Swimsuit - One-piece swimsuits make a "V" shape pattern around the thigh similar to that of a bikini, and typically do not have the parts that cover the uppermost part of the legs.
