下駄 /ge ta/ is a traditional japanese footwear, similar to a flip-flop. It consists of a base made of wood usually with two crossbars under it and has a Y-shaped strip connecting both laterals to the space between the big toe and the other toes.
Uncommonly, they can be "geisha" geta, which are made of a single solid block rather than having crossbars.
If it doesn’t have crossbars and isn’t unusually thick, it’s probably zōri instead.
