Use this tag when there are pictographic themes used as mental imagery (inside a thought bubble).
How to distinguish
Pictographics are distinguished from other forms of mental imagery in a few ways.
- Pictographics are simple ideas, too simple to be considered their own scene.
- Pictographics are usually symbolic. The image portrayed can be viewed as a representation of a more complex thought process.
- In the case of simple mental imagery, symbolism is less important. Perceive the image as a representation of what a character wants.
- This tag is not mutually exclusive with imagination. Simplistic fantasies and dreams may fall under more than one tag.
Imagination themes
Ask yourself if the content can pass as a picture in picture (full bodies, contains dialogue, or sound effects, extra details, takes up a prominent amount of image space, etc).
If so, the content is probably better tagged as one or more of the following tags instead.
