Species: canid humanoid
Canid humanoids are animal humanoid characters who possess features of species from the canine family, this almost always includes a pair of dog ears and a dog tail. In addition to this, they may have other canine features, such as sharp teeth, fangs, and/or claws. They may also have paw-like hands, patches of fur on their skin, hair patterned after dog fur, they may have markings on their skin (such as stripes or spots), or they may even appear to have a thin layer of fur covering their entire body.
Tagging Notes
- If a character has full-body markings or appears to be covered in fur, and has an animal-like nose, they should be tagged as anthro, not as animal humanoid
- A character with a snout and/or animal shaped head should always be tagged as anthro, not animal humanoid
- Animal humanoids should never be tagged anthro or human
- If the character appears to be in costume use fake dog ears and/or fake dog tail instead
While most commonly these characters have ambiguous canine or domestic dog features, this is an umbrella tag, and includes any animal humanoid that has features of species that fall under Canidae, this includes the familiar canine subfamily as well as the other two subfamilies of canid: Borophaginae (bone-crushing dogs) and Hesperocyoninae (basal canids), as well as fictional canid-humanoid species and mythological creatures.
