Guild Wars is a free to play MMORPG franchise developed by ArenaNet and published by NCsoft. The first game, called Guild Wars: Prophecies, was then followed by two expansions: Factions and Nightfall.

Years later, Guild Wars 2 was created following the success of the first series. However, unlike the original series which were Human-centric, the second game allowed players to select five races as their player characters: The Human, The Norn, The Charr, The Asura and The Sylvari.
