Protective vore is a act of vorarephilia which purpose is to protect someone by Pred's body. The usual interpretation is a type of soft vore is when pred uses it's inner part of the body to act as a safe place for a prey, for example from weather conditions or other predator - This act can be willing or forced by circumstances in which both pred and prey finds themself. The second interpretation of protective vore is when pred consumes, inserts, or absorbs person(s) or creature(s) that pose a threat to somebody else (usualy someone weak and defenseless or someone who is close to the acting pred)

Note: In the case of the protective vore, the Pred and prey are usually in parent-child or friendly relationship, however, Pred can also perform this type of soft vore as act of sympathy towards the prey.
