The Den Mother is a character created by artist BrassLion and a central character in BrassLion's Lion Tribe setting. She is one of the two leaders of the lion tribe alongside the Patriarch. In addition to having direct oversight over most of the tribes internal workings, the Den Mother also works with the other female members of the tribe as a breeder. She is a female lion with grey fur, spots, dark grey hair, and pink eyes with black sclera. She is often seen with a black and red armband, a signifier of her willingness to breed or be bred, a golden choker around her neck, a red loincloth, and a pregnant belly with a gold naval piercing.

In keeping with her title, the Den Mother is a motherly figure to nearly everyone in the tribe, taking care of their needs and involving herself in almost all tribal activities. She is stern when she needs to be, but also doting and compassionate especially toward fellow mothers whether they are within the tribe or visitors. While she treats her role with a level of seriousness she is also playful and mischievious, not-so-subtly scheming to have particularly fertile visitors stay with the tribe and produce more lion cubs.
