Sailor hat (or sailor cap) refers to several styles of hats worn as part of a naval uniform. The most common example was coined the "Dixie cup" and can be identified by its raised rim that encircles the crown. Another style of sailor hat is visorless, usually with a flat-capped brim. Styles depicted in sailor uniforms may depict other related headwear such as the mariner's cap, or captain's hat instead.
