vaginal canal
The vaginal canal is the muscular, elastic, tube that connects the vaginal opening in the vulva with the cervix and uterus.
The vaginal canal is an internal part of female genitalia, allowing for sexual intercourse and birth. During times of sexual arousal, the vagina lubricates itself to make penetration easier; while vaginal lubrication is always present, the amount of lubrication increases with arousal, and may "leak" from the vaginal canal, becoming visible in the lips of, or around, the vulva.
Depictions of the vaginal canal almost inherently involves an internal view of a character's body. With the exception of unrealistically wide gaping vaginal openings, diagram illustrations of the vagina by itself, or very gory posts that allow the vaginal canal to be seen externally.
Important Note:
While "vagina" is frequently informally (mis)used to describe the vulva, the external part of female genitalia - the "vaginal canal" is the actual vagina. To avoid inevitable mistagging, vagina is aliased to pussy.
