Betty, or "Black Betty" as fans have named him, is a meme of a lizard posing that originated from an image posted on the Facebook group, Derpetology. It has since gained popularity outside of Facebook on Reddit and Twitter posts, some artists taking upon the challenge to recreate the lizard's pose in their own styles.

Contrary to popular belief, he is not a Komodo dragon, but a "Black Dragon" Asian water monitor (Varanus salvator komaini).
