talons
A talon is a hooked claw with a strong curvature most commonly found on modern day birds of prey, such as buzzard, eagle, falcon, hawk, or owl; but are not exclusive to birds of prey. Talons are primary used for the gripping, piercing, and shredding of flesh whereas claws are not used to the same extent and will have a shallower curve. All talons are claws, but not all claws are talons.
